INTRODUCTION TO DEVISING FOR CHARACTER CREATION

Across a day at Oriel High School in Crawley, we delivered four drama-based workshops for separate groups of year 8/9 students in association with Guildford School of Acting.
Through a variety of drama games and applied theatre exercises, we collaboratively created a character, and students were encouraged to devise a scene using that character. Groups were then encouraged to share their devised scenes which included conflict and resolution to the group.
